1. Who is responsible for data processing at the school?

Our school administration is responsible for all processing of personal data and compliance with data protection regulations at our school. She is supported in her task by the deputy responsible person and school data protection officer.

2. What is the legal basis for processing my personal data and that of my child?

The processing of the personal data of pupils and parents or obligated persons takes place in the school mainly on the basis of the school law of North Rhine-Westphalia.


We collect and process all personal data that does not fall under these regulations only with your informed and voluntary written consent. This includes, for example, emergency information, your telephone number at work, your private and professional e-mail address, the use of learning platforms with personalized registration, recordings of photos, videos and audio and publications on the school website and in the press without attribution.

 

3. For what purposes are my personal data and those of my child being processed?

The processing takes place for a variety of purposes related to the organization of everyday school life, teaching, communication with parents and other bodies. At our school, this involves the following processing purposes. It's about the

 

    Administration of student data and grades as well as the creation of certificates, lesson planning, implementation and documentation, evaluation, quality development and school statistics, communication with legal guardians, documentation of educational and regulatory measures, diagnostics/creation of support recommendations/individual support plans, preparation of support reports (AO-SF procedure) ,Preparation of school reports for applications for inclusion assistance, compulsory school attendance monitoring, public relations, language proficiency assessment

 

4. How long will my personal data and that of my child be stored?

The NRW Education Act specifies how long the personal data processed by us is stored. The table provides an overview of the retention period.

The retention periods begin at the end of the calendar year in which the files or files were closed, but not before the end of the calendar year in which compulsory schooling ends, unless otherwise specified.


5. Who does the school share my and my child's personal information with?

We transfer personal data to entities outside the school on a regular basis or as needed. This includes the Ministry of Education (IT.NRW) for statistical evaluation and planning. Within the framework of school health care, it is the lower health authority, the receiving school when changing schools, legal guardians and students for notifications and certificates, and also the youth welfare office, state youth welfare office, school supervision, school authorities, insofar as this is necessary to fulfill the tasks of the school. Within the school, teachers are recipients. After the retention period has expired, part of the data is taken over by the local archive. We occasionally transmit personal data to the local press for public relations purposes. We transmit personal data from children to the organizer of the open all-day event when they participate.

 

6. What obligations do I have towards the school as a person affected?

As a legal guardian, you are obliged to provide us with certain necessary personal data. In our questionnaire, which you fill out when registering your child at the school, this data is marked as mandatory information. If you intentionally or negligently provide no, incorrect or incomplete information, you are committing an administrative offense that can be punished with a fine.

 

7. What personal data does the school receive from other bodies?

We receive the result of the school doctor's report from the health department of the city of Wuppertal and, if not carried out at our school, the result of the language assessment from another primary school. If you change school, we receive a copy of personal data from the school that is leaving, which is important for your further schooling. This is individual data and, if applicable, data on special educational needs, health impairments and/or physical disabilities, insofar as this is necessary for special school care of those affected. We also receive information on monitoring compulsory schooling and a duplicate of the last report or half-year report.

 

8. What rights do I have as a person affected in relation to the school?

For personal data, the processing of which is based on your consent, this consent can be revoked at any time for the future. The revocation can also only relate to part of the data. The revocation of the consent does not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent up to the point of revocation. In the event of revocation, the corresponding data will no longer be used by us in the future and will be deleted from our database immediately. If the consent is not revoked, the deletion periods mentioned above apply.

 

The school has a right to information about your personal data. You also have a fundamental right to rectification, deletion or restriction, a right to object to processing and a right to data portability. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority.
